Colonel Lou Caputo of the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office donned the Grinch costume and worked with other deputies in pulling over speeding drivers on the Florida Keys Overseas Highway at Key Largo.

They were given the option of an onion or a summons to appear in court.

Its nice when officers show humanity instead of being harsh with the public. Hopefully those petty offenders learned a lesson.

Love it! Mr. Grinch and all. Wonder if it's a Vidalia or Red onion? Sometimes officers need to find ways to just chat with folks about safety without people turning defensive. This is a good strategy, I think. 👍😁

Oh boy a lawyer could have a field day with his line where he said if they take the citation then theyd use that as probable cause to start investing a DUI.

That sounds sketchy. Maybe someone is absolutely appalled by them? And what's so bad about accepting a ticket when your taught in grade school to obey and respect officers?
