My father was drafted in Vietnam and it gave me chills when I heard his birthday being read out aloud, , , July 29TH. Rest In Peace to my dad who suffered year’s and year’s with leukemia from agent orange, I was conceived while he was on chemotherapy and I am his only child. Probably from all the radiation and chemotherapy. He passed in 2005 after many years struggling with cancer. I’m pretty sure more soldiers died of cancer than fighting in that stupid conflict 😢

Aiyana Jones: All of this was because of Officer Weekley's incompetence. He (allegedly) blinded himself, fired at the first person he saw, and proceeded to lie about the whole thing to save himself like a coward. All this pain and suffering and lack of justice was because of incompetence

The whole time, Owens was upstairs. All of this could have been avoided

So the police officer apparently committed no crimes, but the family was awarded over 8 million dollars for wrongful death due to the officer murdering the child. So the justice system is willing to pay the family money for the crime, but not set the officer in jail. The family was emotional well what did you expect, the officer killed a 7 year old. You expect them to be happy. We need justice reform desperatly in this country.

I got so fucking pissed at what happened to Aiyana. Why do we not train our officers for at least 2-3 years? Most European countries do it for that long and in some cases even longer than 2-3 years.

In Australia, we also had the draft for the Vietnam War. Around the same time drinking age laws were also lowered to 18... the reasoning was if you were old enough to fight and die for your country, then you are old enough to drink.

I wish drafts never existed. Imagine the horror in the faces and minds of 18 year boys who just wants to live being forced into war. I feel like whoever made that up is probably in hell, sending people off to die. Whether it be for your country, a life is something that can never be returned.
