Restored 1981 Honda GL1100 | Dubai | Top Speed Run

I bought this Gold Wing about a week ago and got it serviced with all fluids changed and all brakes rebuilt.

It was someone's daily commuter so it was mechanically in good shape when I found it. It has an aftermarket seat, front and rear fenders and lights. Looks like a full-options GL1100 converted to naked.

It's a joy to ride and that engine sounds glorious. All stock.

I bought one in 1981, I was asked to race a police pursuit vehicle ( a Jaguar XJ12) on the M6
took it to 130mph and then the jag was floored, I thought I had stopped.
a beautiful cruising machine, had it for three years, one of the first batch to be built in the U.S.

I held mine maxed out for 3 minutes, at 7800 RPMS, these old goldwings are made TOUGH, at a max speed of 125MPH, All there in need of is a 6th gear, if they had one there would be no need for a crotch rocket. Great video, Nice bike

Love mine I'm 6'1" GL1100 is small for my liking. Little awkward getting feet out of the small area at first. It will rattle ya above 80 few tweaks your good to go. It's made to put along not race on the road.

I have an 81 gl1100 stripped of its fairings but highway soeeds feels unlike any other bike i have it sways and wobbles where at the first exit you want to get off the highway immediately. Looked at head bearings, wheel bearings, swingarm no play in them and not binding .. so frustrating because under 60mph the bikes a blast above 60 and feels like your gonna crash

I must have aftermarket guages cause my Honda Gl 1000 has a green speedometer that ends on 240 but I still haven't got to drive it yet to see if it'll get to that prob take it to a drag strip to check
