In this week's Video i will try to use a super cool reflecting Inclusion in an Amethyst. An amazing Inclusion with dark reflections over invisible to a silver white sheen to rainbow reflections is in the rough Crystal. My plan is to use the Inclusion in a Standard Round Brilliant and exploring which influence it has. I try to align the Stone, that the inclusion is invisible when we look direct through the Table. Everything works well up to the prepolishing...The Inclusion was to big or the Stone to small, however i not pay attention to the cleavage of such plane like Inclusions. Normally not a Problem in Quartz but well known in e.g. Topaz "Cleavage"... Check out what happend and learn what you have to pay attention to, to avoid such annoying Mistakes.

Your amethyst does not have an inclusion. That is a crack. Surprisingly, it actually looks like a nice flat cleavage plane, which is really unusual in quartz. More likely an example of the normal conchoidal fracture, or maybe a parting line, but it just might be a cleavage, which is wicked cool.
