Genshin Impact news here. So there is new information regarding the rank of Fatui Harbingers. So the point is that the Captain is the first rank, the Jester is the leader.
and the tenth rank is currently empty or unknown.
Maybe he or she removed their identity from Irminsul.

Apart from Diluc's father theory, there's also a second theory which says the missing Harbinger, beside Scaramouche, will be The Traveler himself. I remember a line from Viktor in Sumeru, the fatuus that moved from mondstadt, he implied that "they" may work together in the future. Don't know just speculation

Pierro is Rank 0, Captain is rank 1.. Captain is the one who went and bring the Knave to Sneznaya after she killed previous Knave. Im pretty sure she didnt not come willingly so they had to send stronger harsbringer to get her. if u remember Captain was present on that cinematic where Pierro tells what is going to be Arcchelinos new name and tittle from Tsaritsa.

It might’ve been Crepus, Diluc’s dad. He had a delusion and he was acquainted to the fatui. He died due to an excessive use of his delusion and as far as I remember he didn’t end in very good terms with the fatui which might be the reason why he’s never mentioned.

My theory is Paimon was someone banished from Celestia, she too wants to the defeat Celestia especially against Asmoday the unknown god. And that
Asmoday and her are related which is why they have similar looks. Maybe it was part of the Fatui’s plan especially the jester to unseal the traveler, because he knows about the other twin since the abyss twin also went looking for their sibling. This where Paimon comes in, she was tasked by the jester to find the sealed twin and she spent all of her powers to unseal the traveler from Asmoday’s seal. But as result she went into a dormant state where she forgot who she was but only her goal to act as a guide for the traveler to Snezhnaya. I can imagine that Paimon will reveal herself as a harbinger when we go to Snezhnaya.

My assumption is that, Harbinger that is considered KIA will not be replaced unless the one who eliminated them is appointed. If this is true and Crepus was in fact the 10th, then it is making sense that 8th and 10th is vacant and will always be. Unlike Peruere who eliminated the previous Knave and appointed as the replacement.

The questionable thing here is the 6th position in which Scaramouche removed himself from Irminsul, the problem is not why it remains vacant but rather the origin of the 6th rank itself.

I believe Crepus is or was the 10th Harbinger because of his uniquely designed delusion. Not sure if it's actually modified or not but delusion in general seems like a replica of a vision, but this might be wrong since Tartaglia's and Arlecchino's delusion seems plainly designed, similar to Pyro Agent's. Perhaps there is a reason to the unique design, and maybe that reason is the reason why he was targeted possibly by Dottore, by using Ursa the Drake.

what if the 10th is one of the Hexenzirkel members.. i mean, they absent a lot due to their leylines explorations throughout Teyvat.. makes sense that they didnt attend most of the Fatui meetings and doesnt show face much

I heard that it could be crucabena since the spot that are empty dont seems to be immediatelly filled.
Would also make sense with arlecchino being able to defeat her since she was the weakest.

I also believe the 10th Harbinger resides in Snezhnaya. If I were to write this character, I would model them after Grand Admiral Thrawn. Unlike the other Fatui Harbingers, who are ranked primarily by strength rather than wisdom or influence, the 10th Harbinger would be a wise and calm strategist, notable for not possessing a Vision nor a Delusion. They would inspire their subordinates through positive reinforcement, encouraging them to improve themselves and fight not for the Tsaritsa, but for Snezhnaya itself. To this Harbinger, the homeland takes precedence over the throne, fostering a sense of loyalty among their Fatui followers that surpasses their allegiance to the Tsaritsa. This would create an internal tension, as high-ranking Fatui military members would question where their loyalties lie: with the Tsaritsa, or with the 10th Harbinger and Snezhnaya alone.

The 10th Harbinger believes that the Tsaritsa’s actions may ultimately doom her people, which drives them to prepare for any contingency to ensure Snezhnaya’s survival. This character could serve as an ally to the Traveler in Snezhnaya, working alongside Childe to outmaneuver Pulcinella, Pantalone, Sandrone, and Columbina.

Overall, this is just an opinion of how the 10th harbinger can be used.

So if Pierro is the "Leader" that makes him not a Harbinger since he's unranked? That just confuses me especially since its highly speculated on the Harbingers Wheel that the Jester is at the 9 o'clock position. I personally don't see any issue of being both the Leader and Rank 1 in an organization you created.
