I played coolmath games sometimes as a kid, but for me the real nostalgia was y8 games, salute to fireboy and water girl the papa louie franchise, run, az etc... and also rip flash, you will forever be missed

My school has literally every website you imagined blocked. Naturally, kids started hunting for proxies that weren't blocked and there was a black market of them. I made like $100 off that lol.

I remember playing Fire Boy and Water Girl while in the hospital while I waited to be admitted for some mental health stuff when I was 16. That game brought me so much joy during a scary period of my life.

For some reason the whole site (*especially* like a decade ago) has a sort of 90s vibe to it. Like one of the last vestiges of the old wild west days of the internet or something. Not sure how old it really is, but it certainly carries that vibe. That sort of aesthetic combined with the timeless games and nostalgic setting really helps to amp up the nostalgia to its max.

Run really shaped my likes on sci fi when I was a kid. Like the alone in a empty void kind. Just the idea of this lone alien running in this space maze all alone with no real reason creeped me out as a kid but also interested me. It’s probably why I like No Man Sky single player so much. Being alone in space is both horrifying but amazing at the same time.

I remember playing Fireboy and Watergirl with my friend, we were always arguing about who is going to be a girl because no one wanted to be a girl.
Some games I really loved back then, even if they might not be on CMG but still old, are Tank Trouble, Tanki Online (which is now really bad with all these updates), and the best Flash game series I've ever played, no, not Piko - Strike Force Heroes series

Although I have played Fire Boy and Water Girl, Duck Life, that motorcycle game, and others, I was *definitely* a Run, Run 2, and Run 3 player. One day in 4th grade, I was at home and was playing FB&WG and saw to the side an ad for Run 3. It seem interesting and I clicked it. Holy bro, I got addicted af. The characters were so fun, the levels were so challenging, the lore was so deep, everything. I'm currently in my 4th Run 3 hyperfixation phase. I miss my childhood and will forever cherish the nostalgia that comes with it.

Our school network would automatically restrict access to sites with flash games & such, although for some reason, coolmathgames was the one site that was never blocked. It probably got whitelisted because it had "math" in the name or something lol
