Taliban Says it will Flog Women, Stone Them to Death for Adultery | Vantage with Palki Sharma

Taliban has issued a new edict which says that women in Afghanistan would be publicly flogged and stoned to death for adultery. Since coming to power in 2021, the Taliban promise their new regime would be open-minded and moderate. But the new government has not been any different from the Taliban regime of the late 1990s. In over two years, Taliban authorities have excluded Afghan women and girls from ever more spheres of public life, including high school and university, as well as parks, fairs or gyms. This comes as Afghanistan remains on the verge of collapse with growing poverty. So why is the Taliban only targeting women and girls? Palki Sharma tells you.
