The Coral Restoration Foundation is the first in the Caribbean to "farm" corals in underwater nurseries. The intent is to plant corals from the nursery onto reefs where these staghorn and elkhorn species once flourished. In this video CRF Founder Ken Nedimyer speaks with Fincasters' John Carlin about how the aquarium hobby has contributed to the Foundation's success.

Very inspiring :) Keep up the great work. We need more people like Ken Nedimyer in this world.

Minor correction: first coral nurseries in Caribbean would have been Austin Bowden-Kerby at U-Puerto Rico in the mid-1990s. I taught Ken the mid-water buoyant "string" nursery in '09, from which he developed the tree.

I learned about the CRF from an episode from the TV show fish tank kings.
