Honestly she could’ve went the safe route and talked about all the good things that she can do for the school but instead she decided to play dirty and Sheldon clapped back even harder by exposing where she is truly from

It's the kindness display by Mrs MacElroy toward Sheldon that I like the most. She seems pretty supportive of him and almost protective in her own way. She believed the odds weren't in his favor and wanted to assure him there was no shame in throwing the towel (she was afraid he would be humiliated in his endeavour and wanted to spare him from that). After all, Sheldon is still a impressionable child despite being in high school.

Since the entire school obviously adored Nell beforehand, them instantly turning on her once Sheldon revealed that she was actually born in New York, and therefore, not a true Taxan, shows just how shallow their support was.
