Making Soap ~ Jewel jewelweed Soap

Jewel Soap
This soap was made out of a desire to help ease the problems brought about when poison oak/ivy/sumac come into your life! Those evil plants are so horrible! The rash, itching, misery and sleeplessness they cause are just awful. So, after learning that jewelweed, also called impatiens capensis, has been used for hundreds of years to combat the urushiol oils--the stuff on poison oak/ivy/sumac that causes rash. While it has never been conclusively proven that it can PREVENT rashes, it is clear that it certainly does help with the miserable rash! I can say that since using this soap, I haven't had one single brush with a rash from those plants. WHEW!!

I'm not a doctor and do not give you any sort of medical advice. Only my anecdotal experiences and the things I've learned through using stuff like jewelweed!

The natural ingredients--like oatmeal, colloidals of gold and silver, raw honey, salt, yogurt--give this soap a wonderful, silky feel. The lather is really nice. But the moisture!!! With mango butter, jewelweed-infused olive oil, coconut oil, rice bran oil...it is WOW! And the fragrance is incredible.
