I had respect for Enid's Dad. At least he's accepting of his daughter. Enid's Mom, on the other hand, made me sick to my stomach.

I love how, despite being a man of few words, you can clearly see the love that Enid's dad has for his daughter. It's in his eyes and every single scene that he's in, and it can be seen here. Kudos to the actor for doing such a great job.

It was such a sweet moment!

And it takes a lot of strength to stand up to her mother.

I'm envious of Enid for having such an amazing father

I could not stand Enid’s mom, I wish the dad didn’t look so sad, and I’m happy that Enid stood for herself and that her dad gave her some reassurance

I love that she has a good father who supports her.
I can't even see my father without getting an attack of PTSD!!

Enid's dad has the look of someone who regrets his choice of life mate but knows if he ducks out now his wife will do everything she can to hurt their kids. Maybe didn't even realize this until they had one kid that didn't fit his wife's expectations, once she couldn't control everything, though, Enid's mom let her true colors show. Definitely wishing he could say something but so beaten down he knows nothing he says will help, so just quietly waits and hopes his daughter will stand up for herself. Poor guy.

Now I just hope Enid never tells her mother that she wolfs out. Her mom doesn't deserve to know, doesn't deserve to be a part of that and when she does find out, I hope Enid never does it in front of her. Just keeps doing what she wants. Her mom will be thrilled her child has finally conformed to what she wants, but will still never get to sink her claws in and be in control like she clearly wants.

I think Enid could have always done this herself, but I think being around Wednesday has helped toughen her up a bit to stand up to her mom.

Enid’s dad got me “FELT LIKE SO RELATABLE-“

Enids dad is a lot like my grandfather. My grandmother was much the same way as her mom, wanting to control everything despite believe it was all for the best. She couldn’t take no for an answer. Pop pop would often let her go off on her tangents and was only able to say his peace after she had moved on. He was a good man, but he avoided conflict with her. He just wanted peace

This scene. Shows what a father should be. Always proud of their children, mom means well I was hoping for more but maybe next time ^.^

At least she has her dad on her side. Some people have neither as the other parent becomes the enabler

Enid’s father is a man of few words, but when he does speak, they are quiet powerful.

The dad looks like he's been struggling to tell Enid's mom "no" for twenty years.

I think her mother was proud, deep down.

Least her father is a good man. You all want nightmare stories? Here's one. Dear old daddy tried to poison my mom when I was a year and a half old. Multiple times. Including while she was hospitalized from arsenic poisoning. And then moved the new women into our house as "our new babysitter". So, seeing a GOOD father...really makes me sad. But at the same time, makes me smile.
