Being a mom of a son with Asperger’s (it falls on the autism spectrum), it absolutely warms my heart to see the performances of this young man. His reaction to the audience and judges giving him a well deserved standing ovation made me tear up. Oh and a big thank you to his teacher Mrs. Keerwin (I’m sure a complete butchered that name, sorry) for going the extra mile to make Cillian feel comfortable in school. My son had a very special teacher as well, Mrs. Sadlowski. Even though she was my son’s elementary school teacher and he is 18 now, we are still in contact with her. As a matter of fact, we just visited her, while on vacation in the US.
A lot of teachers don’t realize how big of a positive impact they can have on a student.
