Sharon Graham, the general secretary of Unite has told Sky News she wants "a Labour government that is going to make real change to people's lives" and that she thinks the party has been "too timid".

Unite, which remains affiliated with Labour, does remain the party's largest donor, gifting it over £600,000 since the last general election but relations have been strained ever since Sir Keir replaced Jeremy Corbyn as party leader in 2020.

I'd rather have someone timid in power rather than someone trying to make ourselves poorer so they can make themselves richer.

Graham is speaking out of both sides of her mouth.

Having a good two day clear out on the bog is disgusting and smelly, but necessary. Labour have to do the same!

Starmers great genius is that he says nothing and then a week later he goes back on it.
Starmer's "lurch to the right" shows there is little difference between what he and Rishi Sunak's Tory Party have to offer and no matter who occupies Downing Street after the next election, be they blue Tories or red, the country will suffer as Starmer has abandoned progressive values - clearly targeting his words at traditional Tory voters. He delivers his speeches with all the charm and dynamism of a tailor's dummy. Each hollow soundbite is presented awkwardly, in an overly rehearsed manner. Between his sycophantic odes to King and Country, Starmer serves up demagogic and patronising remarks about the working class. From his refusal to support strikes, to his promises of ‘fiscal responsibility’, to his nods to Thatcher on questions of law and order, however: it’s been evident for some time that Starmer is no friend – let alone leader – of working people. Those who remember the 2020 Labour leadership contest will know better than to trust any promises emanating from Starmer’s office. Three years on, not one of his infamous 10 pledges remains unbroken.

Some form of PR (there are a number of variants) should be one of the top priorities of the next Labour government, without it whatever Labour restores will be undone again when the Tories return. It has happened every time since the postwar Labour government; the last 13 years being the most egregious example.

Better to be timid and effective, than loud and lying.

We need a labour government that will shorten the gap between the haves and the have nots. Workers should be paid much much more to enable to live without having to starve, or choose between eating and heating. Reduce the outrageously obscene pay and unearned bonuses of top company CEOs. Share the profits with those who work for it, not just the people running those companies. Also, CARRILION needs looking into. Why has it gone away?

If I was to talk to Sharon I would say everything she says I agree with .. but we are talking about (in 2019) LABOUR voters “lending” their vote to the BREXIT-Tories. These people may be coming around to the fact that Brexit has failed, but they have LONG BREXIT, and they are not ready for the hard right newspaper demonised Labour yet.

Wish my pension was linked to Graham's salary and expenses.

Agree with Sharon let’s get the money off the rich & give it to the poor, let’s also tax 95% on above their £60, 000/yr & let’s give that back to the poor & country!

I'd like Labour to change the broken voting system fast. It is unfair.

Why can't Starmer define what a woman is?

She should be a politician. Not one of his questions did she give a straight answer to.
And tragically he let her get away with it.
