I got the buck as a loaner from my Vulture pledge and I've had such a blast with it! I also wasn't expecting to like it but it feels to me like a ship built from spares on the edge of space using a blurry picture of an X-Wing as inspiration haha

Buccaneer is my favorite fighter. It's got wile e coyote feel to it.

The Buccaneer can handle larger ships and longer engagements quite well now. I regularly do high threat combat assistance missions (enemy ships being anywhere from other buccaneers to hammerheads) and it handles itself quite well. I use laser repeaters for the S1 and S3 weapons, with a ballistic cannon for my S4. It can melt large ships quite easily, and is by far my favorite light fighter!

I got a Buccaneer as a loaner for the Pirate Gladius. I was surprised at how fun and effective this ship is. It has definitely grown on me.

First time really flying this ship, I soloed my way to the final wave of Pirate Swarm, but gave up against the Idris and quit. Armed it with Attritions in all slots. If it wasn't for the low nose hp, it could be a pretty good ship. The moment you take hull damage from ballistics (or when shield is down), the nose turns red.

Still pretty usable in PvE against larger targets, with some careful flying.

The Buccaneer is a very close competitor to the F7C, it just has less Hull HP and less mass. If you swap out the big gun for the "Buccaneer Spinal" attachment, it can mount two Size 2 Guns, which will further push its DPS closer (and surpasses it in DPS, but not Alpha) to that of the F7C.

Its kind of fragile for going head to head in PvP combat, but it is pretty devastating if you can out-maneuver an opponent. Definitely fun to fly either way.
