CONTEXT (wiki): "Bella ciao" ("Goodbye beautiful") is an Italian protest folk song from the late 19th century, originally sung by the mondina workers in protest against the harsh working conditions in the paddy fields of Northern Italy.

It is widely assumed that the mondina song was modified and adopted as an anthem of the Italian resistance movement by the partisans who opposed Nazism and fascism, and fought against the occupying forces of Nazi Germany, who were allied with the fascist and collaborationist Italian Social Republic between 1943 and 1945 during the Italian Civil War.
Versions of "Bella ciao" continue to be sung worldwide as a hymn of freedom and resistance.

Throughout history freedom is always fought for. We never meet the heroes, yet we always see their symbols. Some have been turned into flowers, that always wilts to grow again. Others turn into statues to break then are rebuilt again. While others become legends to never know death. Heroes oh heroes I pray for safe journey, rest your tired eyes you have long since earned it.

I learned about this song from Far Cry 6.

I originally enjoyed this song because of the Italian vocalist and the melody of the song. :)




But after talking to my Italian friend about this song, they told me it's the national anthem to the Italian Communist the song celebrates the partisans from the 1940s through the 60s that are very controversial for their horrid actions they committed in Italy during that (i won't go into further details since this is a music channel and not a political channel.)

It's a shame because I really do like to listen to vocalists that are singing in another language (like some of the Spanish, French, and Japanese songs you promoted xKito). Just sucks that the first Italian vocalist song on your channel is a political song for a political party. :(
