Not only limited to Peak Design strap, but other strap is easier to install with this technique! I use various other stuff such as stray thread found on shirt, for example, and they still work (sometimes for cases like Peak Design, requires a bit of tensile strength available to pull it through).

Hi. FYI I think the GR2 has a smaller hole at the bottom - there's no way the peak design strap is going through that hole on the bottom of the GR2. Tried several times with nylon but in the end, it's impossible.
There were some Peak Design straps that were slightly thinner (3rd Gen I believe) - but the new ones went back to being thicker - and this is not possible anymore.
It still works on the top hole (right) - but that's the least convenient one.
