Session 1 of “Sharing Best Practices for the Tanzanian Seaweed Industry” (October 13, 2021).
This online event was hosted by the GlobalSeaweedSTAR team at the University of Dar es Salaam (Tanzania) to discuss the key findings and legacy of the programme for the seaweed farming industry in Tanzania.
Speakers from the GlobalSeaweedSTAR team in Tanzania were joined by colleagues from the UK, Philippines and Malaysia to discuss a variety of topics on seaweed aquaculture, including pests and diseases, socioeconomic resilience, and algal genetic resources. A new manual for the identification and management of seaweed pests and diseases in Tanzania was also launched.
