I am still optimistic about this season and I have said before that we need another striker. Kachunga and KaiKai need to up their games massively

We needed a complete change after last season not half
They players from last season were nowhere near good enough yet we are still starting these players this season
More money needed otherwise another struggle thus season once again

We need some forwards/wingers. Kaikai and Kachunga were dire, offered no attacking threat at all.

Wasn't the result we were looking for, so we must make amends in our next match.

I said it before and I'll say it again, preseason in Portugal is all very well, but it's got to be done in Connemara, running through the stones, tustling to stay on your feet in the teeth of the mighty Atlantic, eating seaweed. Poolside about as effective as offside.

That could and should have been more conclusive.

In fairness that first goal was a bit special

I said on here on Friday that the best we could hope for was to lose by less than three, so at least we achieved that!

How have we been left in a situation where we've started the season with the most impotent attack in the history of professional football?

Our American owners have talked about wanting to see us score more goals but don't they realise that decent attackers cost money and they'll have to up Monk and Strang's budget if they want us to score 60+ goals per season rather than the usual 40?

It's still very early days and we may look a lot better if/when we bring in a few decent players and almost everyone is fit but at this moment in time, you have to think that us spending a fifth successive year in League One is a very fanciful hope!
