Breakaway Escape Links For Rough Ground Fishing

Breakaway Escape Linlks are designed for rough ground fishing to lose your lead if it gets snagged but are safe for casting.

I use two oval links with a pin and foam (tied to the trace so it doesnt just float away) then my lead tied to the trace with 15lb line. Tried and tested method and works for me.
Have tried the gemini genie breaker too but not this breakaway version, id be worried about it letting go during a cast and the lead flying along the beach

After extensive testing I simply cannot get these cants to work properly, they seem to deploy the lead far to early, would you have a solution to this rather keek quandary Iam in?

Have you used them while fishing, id still put a mono weak link on the trace .
