Hi! My name is Leonie and I am a 25 year old girl who loves talking about books! From YA to non-fiction to classics, I read it all (although fantasy will always be my fave). I live in the Netherlands and go to university, but make booktube videos in my spare time :)

just so we don't fall into toxic self comparison, everyone should keep in mind that she is a fictional character and, as you said, there is probably several people involved into making her "read" all these books. Besides, taking into acount that she is living within a very high academic environment, I think it is pretty logical that she reads that much classics, internet content was not a thing yet, and if there is so many books it is also because the show follows her through her young and adult life. So, too everyone who feel like they red nothing comparing to her, just keep in mind: it is not realistic !! ;)

You know you're getting older when you start noticing the ENGLISH TEACHER instead of Rory's main love interests

Don't know if anyone else has already siad this, but this list is all the books mentioned in Gilmore Girls, not necessarily read by Rory. But also 100% a comfort show!

I would love it if you picked 2-3 books from this list to read in a Rory Gilmore reading vlog!

I read 34. It really helped that I was obsessed with the "Pride and Prejudice" movie as a teenager and read ALL Jane Austen books after seeing it.

"I wish I could take those books and just download them into my brain"

I got 158 out of 339. Also, when you get to season 2, maybe do a reading vlog with all the books that the character Jess reads or Paris.

Rory didn't read all of them, but all of them are mentioned in the show. Amy Palladino is responsible for all those references 💟

even as a comp lit student, i only got 56 😔
also, if you love max medina, wait till you see jess mariano in season 2. some of the books that you like or seem to be interested in are actually books that rory read with/because of jess lol

I’m not sure if somebody already commented but the books on this list are all of the books seen or referenced on the show, so it’s not just books that Rory’s read but any of the characters seen reading or referencing. :)

After 30 years of life as a bookworm, I got 48. I haven't even heard of so many books on that list! But I think many of them are really specific to the English-speaking countries (like children's books), so I'm not gonna give my English degree away :D

Possible future video topic: What BooTok famous books would Rory Gilmore be reading today?
I love the coziness of this video. Thank you, Leonie.

Leo as a philosophy major I figured I would weigh in on philosophers writing fiction!
One of the most known ones are Jean-Paul Sartre! Outside of philosophy, he was also a playwrite. He wrote No Exit, The Flies, and The Devil and the Good Lord (all that came to mind)
There's also The Stranger by Albert Camus that grapples the concept of absurdity.
Thus Spoke Zarathustra by Friedrich Nietzsche is ideas of good and evil, and a lot of Kafka has a lot of philosophical undertones.
Philosophy-Fiction is actually such an interesting genre, I hope you're able to look into more! There's a lot of existentialism in the genre, and I actually read a lot of them during my existentialism courses!

Leonie and Rory Gilmore, I can’t think of a better pair with whom to spend my evening😊

Rory has like the most unrealistic taste in books for a teenager. If I read half of these books when I was 15 I would not have had a clue what was happening 😂

I got 37%, but I also was a bookseller in the early 2000s and some of these are indeed books that were popular back then. Also it does gear heavily towards things you read in American high school. Funnily enough, I've never watched Gilmore Girls
