Additional fun fact about the mantis shrimp: We have 3 kinds of photoreceptors in our eyes (blue, red, and green). It's how we're able to see all of the incredible colors displayed in everything from sunsets to, well, mantis shrimp. But these little guys have *16* kinds of photoreceptor cells in their eyes. And we have absolutely no idea why they would ever need that many.

"Water moves out of the way so fast that little vacuum bubbles are formed, called cavitation bubbles. These bubbles collapse immediately, and the force of that collapse creates a second shockwave and even generates light and heat. That's some Mortal Combat finishing move s#!t right there!" - True Facts About The Mantis Shrimp

I like that this is so much more specific, and has primary sources discussing the subject. It's great.

Not only are these shrimp extremely powerful but they are true wonders of the world. They happen to have 12 different color cones in their eyes. We have 3. Imagine all of the colors that they can see

I love these guys! In the bio-mechanics fields, people are actually studying the structure of their clubs to produce super strong composite materials for construction purposes. It´s amazing how nature can produce such fascinating things! Great video =)

I was surprised they didn't mention the OTHER unique feature about the mantis shrimp, it's incredible eyesight. That species literally has the BEST and most complex set of eyes of any organism that we've ever discovered on this planet. Seriously, their eyes are amazing advanced.
