Personal note:
I fell in love with these audiobooks after having watched the movie. The way the author reads is calming, passionate, and expressive. I listen to them before bed to ease myself into a nice sleep. Highly recommend!

What in the hell am I listening to?
It is like listening to an 8 year old with ADHD, who just ate a lot of candy, telling me about his trip to the circus when a squirrel runs by and he yells SQUIRREL! And chases the squirrel and then comes back and starts telling me about the circus until he gets distracted by something shiny.
An electric monk who gets turned loose in the desert because it costs too much to fix him. And his horse, who doesn't like him, has to stay with him. Meanwhile, back at the dinner party, a girl kicked her father. someone got sick on a brick.
I'm an hour in and Dirk Gently's name has only been mentioned twice.
This is like listening to Charles Manson.

Then i moved to Tenerife for 5 years and a flat mate had the best and of course original version. Not quite 50% of the way through. There's been a lot going on, and many many words used, but the story itself has barely progressed Anywhere yet. I didn't notice the 1st few times I listened, because it is at least a fun adventure of sorts, but this time it's really standing out.
