Nonlinear and Fiber Optics-Lecture 1

This course covers the introduction of nonlinear optics, different harmonic generation processes and their applications, multi-photon processes and their applications, followed by basics of fiber optics.
Upon successful completion of the course students will be able to
1. Development of nonlinear optics and its advantages over linear counterpart.
2. Knowledge of different nonlinear optical effects or phenomena and their applications.
3. Basics of fiber optics and their general characteristics.
