How to play Minecraft online on Nintendo Switch - Setup guide.

This video will show you how to join online Minecraft servers while playing on your Nintendo switch.

This video shows a solution that actually works (most of the time) that I found on reddit after some searching. This isn't my own solution it is just the one I found that actually worked.

Things to remember when looking for a server IP, sign into a Nintendo Microsoft account, Check the version of your game, Check you're using the correct port.

Goto settings, internet connection, change settings, change DNS to manual, Primary DNS 104.238.130.180 secondary DNS 8.8.8.8, back to home, close Minecraft, Possibly restart the switch. Do not change internet settings back to automatic if you want to continue on a online sever as you will lose the option to pick.

Hope this video saves some of you sometime looking through other older fixes that didn't work for me, or now don't work at all.

So I did the entire thing but when I tried to connect it said to put a valid code so I put the example code and it said unable to connect, Now it’s loading and won’t stop. If my friend were to join a server would I still be able to join her? Or do I wait for it to load or does it not work anyway if it says 0/20? I’m really confused and I wanna play with my friend ☹️

I just burned $30 on Minecraft for my kids' Switch - now I know why there are so many people selling this game. If you already have another platform, like iOS or Android, then don't buy the Switch version. You can't play online without paying Nintendo a monthly fee. On XBOX, PC, iOS or Android this doesn't cost anything, it's free. So my kids are better off playing on their iPads which have bigger screens, less buggy versions of Minecraft, can play on the TV, with external controllers of any kind and online with other players from any other platform.
