Tesla CEO Elon Musk released a memo saying it's time to bring the Tesla Semi to volume production, according to Reuters.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk is pushing the company to begin “volume production” of its Semi commercial truck, according to a memo obtained by CNBC.

“It’s time to go all out and bring the Tesla Semi to volume production. It’s been in limited production so far, which has allowed us to improve many aspects of the design,” Musk said in the memo. “Production of the battery and powertrain would take place at Giga Nevada, with most of the other work probably occurring in other states.”

Musk did not specify a time frame to begin volume production in the memo. A Tesla spokesperson wasn’t immediately available for comment.

The company unveiled its Semi in November 2017, with intentions to deliver the trucks to customers in 2019. In its third quarter 2019 earnings report, Tesla tempered expectations and said it planned to produce limited volumes of the Semi in 2020. In April, Tesla delayed production and deliveries of its all-electric Semi trucks until 2021.

It bothers me that the corporate media is now actually sounding like they’re paying attention to this disruption and are, therefore, impressed by Tesla. Not to late to eat crow. So where is the usual parade of headline grabbing short sellers who operate more on whims, ego and emotion than actual research?

What is he going to do about the weight? It's never been seen with more than about 30, 000ish lbs on the trailer. And when they brought them back loaded one Semi on each trailer. Those trailers can haul at least 50, 000 lbs each. My diesel day cab tandem tractors weigh 17, 000 to 18, 000 each. I can load 2 of them on a trailer and only be like 65, 000 lbs gross. All this tells me the Tesla Semi is over 26, 000 lbs and judging by the loads I've seen the Semi pulling probably more like 36, 000 lbs. That is a huge fail.
