Great list. If you have kids, or not, baby wipes are great in the car.

This video is really going to help out a lot of beginners. Even for experienced ones, it is always better to compare notes. Thank you.

If you have an idea how to use it, a multimeter is useful to diagnose simple 12volt electrical issues.

Great piece mate, Thanks.

Tyler's list:

1) Tyre guage - yep.
2) Compressor - yep. One in the vehicle and one in a towed item.
3) First Aid kit and PLB - yep. Keep the PLB in a 'go bag' or on your person.
4) Fire extinguisher - yep.
5) Recovery gear - Tyler's collection is exemplary.
6) Tool kit, Max Trax 'n' other stuff - a good mix of stuff
7) Tyre repair kit - yep; buy a BIG box of stuff.
8) Spare key - yep;.
9) Shovel - yep, .
10) Tyre jack - yep. .
11) Portable jump starter - yep.
12) Axe and hand saw - yep
13) Torch/flashlight - yep.
14) [spare] Water - yep.
15) paper maps - yep.
16) hand held UHF - yep.
17) [named] bin bags - yep.

My list, (sort of, in line with Tyler's), I trust that my list helps:

1) Tyre guage - sticks get stuck in valves; the tyre guage should work as 'stand-alone' and connect to the compressor hose; get spare valves.
1a) I use Stauns to deflate; the tug's Stauns are set to 18 psi and the camper's are set set to 20 psi. Screw each on in, in turn and by the time you return to the first one - Bob's your uncle, and keep going around.
2) Compressor - I have a 12V compressor in my Drifta camper; I carry a De Walt 54V battery operated compressor in my tug.
2a) I use the 'indeflate' system, sold by Drifta - two tyres at once, mainly to inflate.
3) First Aid kit[s] and PLB - keep the PLB in a 'go bag' or on your person. The PLB will allow ONLY the registered owner, or the person holding it, to be recovered. A separate snake bite kit, good ones made in Oz, needs to be carried by individuals or deployed next to the First Aid kits.
3a) There are quality First Aid kits superior to, say, the Iron Man kit. Two kits are needed - a 'trauma' kit in the tug and a 'regular' kit in the canopy or towed item. When parked up at camp, a kit should be deployed near the rear passenger wheel, or some such other place, so that campers know where it is.
3b) Fire Blankets - two sizes are required, one for the kitchen and one, long enough, for a human; they both need to be deployed when parked up at camp. The kitchen fire-sized one should be hung on the canopy, the human-sized one should be hung facing the camp fire side.
3c) Pack a 'dunny bag'. Mine comprises a hand trowel, hand sanny, insect repellent, bio-degradable wipes, torch, spare batteries, sun screen, paper towel, vinyl gloves (for people allergic to rubber-based products), small garbage bags, lip balm and eye liner.
4) Fire extinguisher - two are needed. One deploys near the kitchen and one stays in the tug.
4a) Fire Stryker - a must have. They're not cheap but neither is my tug and camper. The RAC currently has 15% discount. I have five distributed around my tug and camper. YouTube offers some videos on their use. ASP employs them.
4b) buy a window breaker and seatbelt cutter - Velcro it to your dash.
5) Recovery gear - Tyler has a great setup, nuff said.
6) Tool kit, spares and Max Trax - Tyler carries a great mix of stuff. Don't forget oils.
6a) rattle guns are for torqueing-up - use only black sockets with a rattle gun; lowering your caravan or camper legs with a rattle gun is annoying.
6b) check wheels and Jesus nuts with a torque wrench, for example, most alloy wheel nuts are 75 Nm. Steel wheel nuts can go to 90 Nm. My tug has wheel bolts rather than lugs and goes to 125 Nm which a rattle gun won't achieve.
6c) silver sockets are used with a standard, hand held, drill.
6d) Go over every nut and bolt on your kit. Place every spanner and socket that fits, in one place. Other sizes, like Max Trax, are for other people - you'll look and feel good when you need them.
6e) zip ties - don't buy cheap ones. Start a collection of quality ties and keep them out of the sun. One may purchase 20/25 mm x 2.5 mm x 1.25 m zip ties - believe me, you can secure a loose solid axle for 500 Km.
7) Tyre repair kit - what Tyler showed; buy a BIG box of stuff, including valves and valve remover/tightener.
8) Spare key - don't hide it when not solo; vacuum bagged and provided to another traveller.
9) Shovel - long handle plumbers shovel
10) Take two bottle jacks and a jockey wheel platform. I've had quality bottle jacks fail on trips. I'm tempted to carry a trolley jack in my camper. A few pieces of square 5-ply helps protect the undercarriage.
11) Portable jump starter - I've gone through two so far, both expensive. I'm now onto a Projecta which starts my 5 litre, twin turbo, V10; the test was to disconnect the starter battery, and it works.
11a) Another trick/hack is to carry a removeable house battery - used for lighting/boating/fishing/jump starting.
12) Axe and hand saw - I carry an old racing axe owned by my grandfather. It's an Osbourne made in QLD, serviced by Sneddens Fencing, a maker of Australian axes. Mine is a Bluey
, one of the best performers in firm timber and is well suited to the Mountain Ash cut at Royal Sydney Show in Australia. A long flat chisel, the bearest hollow grind and medium size characterise this axe. Used for both underhand and standing blocks, it chips the hardwood well with good penetration. It is wide enough to cover a 14 inch log in two blows and yet still meets the size and weight limits for a hard hitting axe in competition.
12a) Hand saw, I carry the Katana Big Boy 360, by Silky, and a smaller hand saw.
12b) Chainsaw - I carry the De Walt 54V baby chainsaw. No fuel required, only bar oil.
13) Torch - can't have too many torches and headlamps. Some quality torches have a window breaker and seatbelt cutter in the build.
14) Water - we carry 2 x 5 litre containers in the tug. Bunnings, AFAC Blue coloured for water and BPA-free.
15) Paper maps - HEMA is the go-to for all quality printed maps; I have a LOT of maps from HEMA. The state-sized and large regional maps are laminated and allow for 'big hand, small map' planning with white board pens.

Even on day trips I always bring a towel and a change of clothes, including socks, underwear and boots. You never know when you might end up covered in mud or soaked to the bone.
