I think I’m just a bit fatigued y’all 😅 it’s the collabs, the price increases, the fact that some designer shoes now cost more than fine jewellery from some luxury brands I’m just so baffled by it all, I think I just need a nice long nap 😂

So I am a Tiffany girl… my wedding set it Tiffany and I have many gorgeous pieces. That being said, I also abhor football so I don’t care about this particular collab. I did get the Fendi/Tiffany colab and LOVE that bag. However, Tiffany does have a history with Nike. For over 10 years Nike used to put on the Nike women’s half marathon in San Francisco. The event was nearly impossible to get in as you only got in through a lottery process because the “medal” was a Tiffany silver necklace handed to you in a blue box presented by a SF firefighter as each participant crossed the finish line. The last year of this event was 2016, so Tiffany has been collaborating with Nike for actually many years prior to this.

I'm not bothered by this collab. As others have said, "Tiffany Blue" is extremely iconic and I think them dabbling in small clothing type collabs to highlight their signature color is fine. Is it a scam to drive the price of AirForceOnes up due to adding a tiny silver plate? Duh- but a large majority of luxury goods are a scam in that way. It certainly doesn't take away from the quality and essence of their main centerpiece- the jewelry (although overpriced for the gold/diamond/metal valuation). I think Tiffany's specifically is focusing on keeping themselves in the mainstream hard right now on the marketing front and trying to compete/capture an increasingly richer Gen Z crowd. They are getting older, getting better jobs, and have more cash to spend. I think Gen Z missed the sterling silver Tiffany hype and right now, most younger luxury jewelry lovers are probably still bent on Cartier, so their collabs with Nike for shoes, Fendi for bags, Beyonce as their marketing image (who put their brand in some lyrics on Renaissance) all are a way for them to capture a strong following in this next generation.

I get the essence of what you are saying though, for example- it is extremely offputting to watch a Youtube video of something you care about, but the "sponsor of the video" is totally off topic/brand- like a Geography of Australia video being sponsored by Idyl (hasn't happened, but you get what I'm saying). I think these collabs have all make some sense and again, come down to them pushing their signature blue out.

Years ago I went into Tiffany to try on a ring I kept seeing everywhere. It was a simple band, nothing crazy, but I remember being so disappointed in the quality. It felt like I could have quite literally bent it in half with my fingers. After that I never went back into the store to look at anything else, and I've never quite understood their popularity. I'm sure some of their other stuff is fabulous (?), but even for an entry level item it should at least feel sturdy.

I hate any type of collaboration between brands. Would never purchase anything from a high end brand who is collaborating with a high street brand. Makes it look so cheap. Your opinion is rightful .

We read Tiffany as classy and Nike as a casual sports brand. Very odd collab indeed 😒
And jerseys off all things. Like maybe a cute sweat-suit in Tiffany blue, IDK.

I feel that is one brand that suffers being under LVMH. I feel like this collab lacks story telling

When I first heard of the collaboration I was so excited, but then when I saw the execution I was outrageously disappointed.

Love that! Stay in your lane. I live in America and no that was just tacky in my opinion

Tiffany did a collab with Supreme before and made actual jewellery, which might be an interesting fact for someone.

Personally, based on the current pieces in your collection, I feel like you resonate with craftsmanship and quality. Maybe this collaboration kinda put a dent into that expectation.

I never was a fan of Tiffany. Love that Tiffany blue color though, but nothing else. And their colab with Nike, was definitely very lazy. Its really nothing says that its Tiffany . To me its all Nike. And that Shirt thing, its what ? I dont see nothing exciting either. Have a blessed day🙏🧡

its strange tiffany can't do a colab? what about all these stupid colabs all these other design houses do. I'm not a huge tiffany fan but there price per diamond weight is much better compared to cartier or van cleef . so maybe take another look you might be surprised value for money.

We understand you. The Nike×Tiffany and NFL ×Tiffany collab is not a big deal, just flat and plain. It's not an American thing only. I'm American, and we're not interested in these collabs either. :/ I know fashion, but I'm not a fan of these either.

There’s a lot of collabs out there that I don’t like. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like other things by the brand….you do you but I don’t get it

Tiffany often lends its color to other brands as a collab. It’s lazy and often strange, but they have the color patented, so they don’t have to contribute much else to the design.
I don’t like luxury brands doing collabs that make no sense, but literally everyone is doing it, so I’d shop with no one if I black listed brands for this.
Their jewelry is lovely. I wouldn’t buy any silver or anything with their logo prominently featured, but higher scale pieces are chef’s kiss.
(Hearing someone say the “& co” part of Tiffany is so strange to my American ears 😅)

they were bought out by LVMH in 2020/21 and naturally raised prices like crazy and started doing a bunch of collabs

Oh boy! I've had so many thoughts and conversations about this collection!

Personally, I feel like this is a very New York City collaboration. Yes, Tiffany is well known outside of this city but it's still an iconic New York brand at its core. New York City is also the birthplace of hip-hop and streetwear. The iconoclasts of the hip-hop movement were the ones who took athletic apparel outside of gyms and turned them into "fashion". They and the generations that followed are in large part responsible for the success and revival of many brands. Timberland is a great example of this.

Although Tiffanys has always been a shop befitting its 5th Avenue clientele, it's also always been a more accessible luxury brand for the common New Yorker. You can see that in the famous scene from Breakfast at Tiffany's when the protagonists walk in with a $10 budget. Growing up here, I saw many of my classmates receive Return to Tiffany pieces for graduations, sweet 16s, etc. So, to me, this collaboration isn't completely out of left field. Of course, this could all 100% be a major reach on my part. lol

I agree that this is a strategic marketing ploy. Tiffany's has been trying to reach younger and trendier consumers for a while. E.g. the "Not Your Mother's Tiffany" campaign. With this collaboration, Tiffany is taping into the "sneakerhead" market and Nike gets another hyped up collectible release. Absolutely no one I've talked to thinks these Air Force 1s will be winning any design awards but I have heard that they're actually very nice from someone who has seen them in person.

Sorry for the longwinded essay. I could talk about this for hours!

I feel Tiffany jewelry is like any other jewelry you can buy from any nice local jewelry store, without the branding and the excessive price. Also, silver prices are down now and it doesn’t matter if a piece of jewelry is “Tiffany”, the pawn shops in Upstate NY will not give you any more money for the piece. Those collabs are terrible and put me off as well!
