The SpongeBob Popsicle Just Got A Major Change

With the SpongeBob SquarePants franchise existing on Nickelodeon since 1999, the Popsicle brand has continued to take advantage of that over the decades. The SpongeBob popsicle always kept the same ingredients of gumballs, with a fruit punch and cotton candy flavor. Now, Popsicle revealed that things are changing.

You know something crazy? These popsicles have sold extremely well over the past years. This is the perfect example of if it’s not broke then don’t fix it. It’s obvious they will lose money from this. Now I’m off to the gas station to try swiping up one of the last gumball spongebobs

i feel like it would’ve been better to do gummy eyeballs instead of chocolate. The chocolate flavor does not mix well with the fruit punch and cotton candy. They’ve done gummies in popsicles before, the ice age ones had an acorn popsicle that was good. I feel like they could’ve done that but make it small enough to be eyes. it could also be used on any other gumball eyes Popsicle has. (which isn’t much)

The sonic popsicle had something similar to this, but instead of chocolate, some popsicles had black gumball eyes

The gumball eyes have been removed due to rising costs and supply chain shortages and it is very certain this will be happening to all other popsicles that have gumballs in the previous place.

Where I live, Canada, they haven't had the gumballs for many years. Still pretty terrifying without the gumballs lol. I'm surprised they didn't just replace the gumballs with edible "gum" instead.

I used to get the SpongeBob popsicle as a kid and I still do. I am a Die hard SpongeBob fan 4 life. I'm going to miss the gumball eyes so much.

I’ll never forget the classic SpongeBob popsicle. I remember getting it from Mr Softee and then after my mom had gastric surgery, all she wanted was a popsicle and the only thing we could find was one of these.

I’m actually surprised that such a thing lasted so long considering how radically different merchandise evolves over the years. I remember in 2010 I bought the Pikachu popsicle form an ice cream truck cause I was playing a lot of HeartGold at the time and I couldn’t help but how 90’s the packaging looked compared to modern Pokémon merchandise. I used to have merchandise from when around Gen 2 was the current generation including the VHS tapes.

The gum balls were my favorite part of the ice cream and when I was little, I didn’t like chocolate that much and I still kinda don’t like it as much so seeing this change, really breaks my heart

The gum balls did taste weird sometimes, but I’m surprised the all the cartoon popsicles didn’t come in boxes in a grocery store.
