Thousands and thousands of times, brain surgeon Gary K. Steinberg has done one of medicine’s most difficult jobs. Why? He fell in love. In this video, Steinberg, chair of Stanford Health Care’s Department of Neurosurgery, director of the Stanford Moyamoya Center, and the founder and do-director of the Stanford Stroke Center, explains his gradual evolution of study from psychiatry to psychobiology to neurology— and finally to cerebrovascular neurosurgery. Dr Steinberg has operated on my Down Syndrome son with a Moya Moya disease and has prolonged his life. He is now 21 years of age.To say that we are grateful for this man's existence is an understatement .Brilliant, humane empathetic dynamic leader in the world of neurosurgery today. Anyone who is trained in Moya Moya has no doubt been trained under or via other modalities of Dr Steinberg. Our planet has been graced and blessed by his presence.
