just replaced this on my moms 2000 cherokee...that final snap is brutal though...the Dorman 56291 from Amazon worked perfect..thanks for the how to video...

Good video thanks; But I'm trying to snap in the new mirror with the old housing in place back into the side mirror housing, and I have it lined up correctly, but no amount of very hard pushing, or then with gloves on, then banging it very hard to get it snapped back in place is just not working. I'm at the point of nearly breaking the glass mirror or the plastic snap in tabs banging it so hard and it just won't snap in. Next I'll have to try lubing the plastic snaps with plastic safe silicone using a small brush in the hopes that it will make the plastic snaps more slippery and I can hopefully finally get it to snap back in place without breaking the glass or the snap in plastic tabs? I barely got the old mirror housing out using a plastic pry bar, and thought for sure it was going to break I was prying it so hard all along the bottom before it finally came loose. Any help or tips to get it to snap back in place would be much appreciated.

Great video. I bought a 98 XJ and the glass itself is missing from the passenger side. Definitely something I need to do sooner rather than later bc I don’t wanna drive without it.

Good video but I wish you showed how to place the new one. The new one broke in my hand it took me like 30 mins to try to put it on but it was not snapping to the clip, until it broke in my hand
