To be fair the stables were huge and the animals were, as far as I know, immortal so there were probably some literal mountains of shit that only Heracles, or two redirected rivers, could clean out.

From all of Herakles labors i allways thought that this was his greatest achievement. He had only from sunset to dawn to do it and it was thought to be literally impossible. He proofed that he is not only strong but also smart by channeling the river into the stables.
