Who needs opposable thumbs when you have an AR-15 with 10 different attachments?

I bought my first Colt AR in 78, two years after discharge from the Marines. Bought a few more since. Good firearms and good beer make life worth living.

I think trying to ban something is the best way to increase its sales.

Definitely a user friendly and versatile fire arm. Recommend for anyone. The anti gun individuals and media referring to it as a weapon of war has always been something that annoys me. It is a far cry from it's battle ready cousins. Some people tend to have an irrational and uneducated fear of "tactical" looking firearms. I proved this theory once by sharing photos of my ruger 10-22 both before and after I swapped out it's wooden chassis for a for a black "tactical" style one. And asked why should I be allowed to own the wooden rifle but not the other. And the answers poured in. " That's an assault rifle." "That's a weapon of war" "That is a tool for killing the other is a hunting rifle." "An old wooden rifle isn't anywhere near as dangerous or capable as that assault rifle"... mind you. Same rifle, same specs, same rate of fire, no special optics or larger magazine, no pistol grip... Just a black frame.. absolutely nothing changed about the function or capability...same little tin can target shooter... yet people who know nothing about it judged it solely based on its appearance.

Yup, AR stands for Armalite, anyone who says otherwise clearly doesn't know what they're talking about

Edit: I honestly didn't expect the attention from this comment, shoulda known tbh

Why did the AR15 become so popular in the US? Two reasons in my opinion: 1) Because the federal & many state governments tried to ban it, which resulted in many people buying one before the bans went into effect. 2) You mentioned it in your video: "The AR15 is the Lego of rifles." It's modularity allows an infinite variety of modifications & accessories to suit the individual person's physical stature/needs or intended application, such as hunting, competition, or home defense. Plus, the rifle's low-power cartridge & very low recoil is attractive to many people that don't like the heavier recoil of rifles chambered, for example, in 30-06, .308/ 7.62 × 51 NATO, etc.
There are likely additional reasons for its popularity that I didn't mention.

Love training with my AR-15. From a small town with only 1 police officer on duty at a time so I train to help keep my community safe.

When the federal government doesn’t want one to own one … you need to own several

The AR seven was actually adopted by the US Air Force as well as a survival rifle. It was also appeared in the James Bond film from Russia with love.

Honestly, I never understood the idea of suing a manufacturer if someone uses their product illegally. Once a product leaves the factory and the sales floor, the manufacturer and literally has no say whatsoever and what happens to that gun.

Ar15's are popular for the exact same reasons Honda civics are popular...
They're reliable, heavily customizable with massive aftermarket parts compatibility, are available in various price points...
They come up in occasional shootings for the same reason Honda civics show up in car accidents... When things are reasonably common, they will show up commonly

Neither is inherently (more) dangerous (than other rifles or cars), powerful or fast etc... Most of what people have heard is just nonsense

It is 100 percent legal to this day to possess a semi automatic rifle or hand gun

I got my first AR15 back in 1993, a Colt Gov Carbine. They are excellent platforms.

The AR-15 is the barbie doll of semi-automatic rifles, it just has too many different outfits for it to ever fade away.
