So Dragonflies won't be happy even with 120 fps gaming?

Interesting to think we're these huge, colossal slow moving beasts to them.

I absolutely love dragonflies. In my opinion, they are the BEST wild creature to photograph for a slew of reasons, number one being that they are not extremely fidgety. Every dragonfly will hold position just long enough for you to get a wonderful picture. They come in all colors and sizes, they're found in a variety of environments, and it's just a joy to follow them and photograph them.

Dragonflies are a very common & mysterious insect. I see them extremely frequently in fall in Japan. I like them because they're calm & harmless.

i was sitting on a stool working on some damage on the side of my truck. a large blue dragonfly flew up and hovered about 6" away from my face at eye level for what seemed like 7 or 8 seconds just looking in my eyes and i back at it then it flew off. it was curious and wanted a close up look into my eyes. it was soo big and beautiful and had such control of its flight. it was a wondrous experience for me and i will never forget it.

I don't think I've ever seen a red dragonfly. Gorgeous!

It’s so cute when they tilt their little head, like puppies do 🥰

Dragonflies are dope. In photographing them I've seen consistent behavior in multiple insects that seem to quickly identify me as a non threat and then start to show off and pose. They'll allow me to get extremely close and will fly off and return to the same branch and just look at me. They seem to have a deeper intelligence.

when you put into perspective how
fast insects and other animals can move . it make sense that they have shorter life spans . time for them moves so slow it would be like years for a dragon fly in our weeks

I always tell people just how amazing dragonflies are. It’s cool how they’re literally vicious (but helpful to people) predators their entire life. Literally from baby to adult!

Human vision isn't even in frames, it's in average light over a time, it's why you see an after image when you shake your hands and why spinning a led bar can work as a clock.

I also remember reading a report from US military where they experimented with FPS screend and it concluded that humans will notice a difference in screen Hz as long as it at least doubles, and they did tests on several thousand Hz screens.

If you slowly put your finger under whatever they are sitting on, many times they will get on your finger. Then slowly lift so you are eye to eye. Fascinating creatures!

does that mean that every animal perceives time differently? or is it that our brains are able to process the world at different speeds based on our metabolic rate? I'm no expert but its pretty trippy stuff to think about.

1:22 -- Dog-esque head tilts are so universally cute, even the dragonfly knows how to manipulate his human audience with one.

Today I saw a dragonfly for the very first time. I didn't even know these insects existed. The way it flapped its wings and changed positions in the air look so unnatural and robotic, to the point I thought someone was spying on me with some sort of a tiny high tech drone. It came near me while I was swiming in the open sea, checked me out for a few seconds, and as soon as I blinked it was already gone!!! I was so impressed I had to do a research on it and I'm glad I found this video. 😁
