'I Love It': Dave Chappelle Not Worried About Getting Canceled Post-Netflix Controversy

Dave Chappelle is getting called out by several LGBTQ+ Groups after ridiculing trans people in his latest Netflix special.

"The Closer" premiered Tuesday and is the last of the three-part deal the comedian signed with the streaming platform.

During the special, Chappelle spoke about LGBTQ+-related topics, including the controversy surrounding the rapper, DaBaby, and Author, JK Rowlings.

Several LGBTQ+ groups are calling for Netflix to remove the special from its platform.

In a post to Twitter, an equal rights group, GLAAD, shared this statement.

"Dave Chappelle's brand has become synonymous with ridiculing trans people and other marginalized communities. Negative reviews and viewers loudly condemning his latest special is a message to the industry that audiences don't support platforming anti-LGBTQ diatribes. We agree."

On Friday, David Johns, Executive Director, National Black Justice Coalition spoke with Roland Martin about Chappelle's offensive comments.

Dave Chappelle's point was that there is a double standard in how the out rage for Systemic racism very often takes a back seat and will play fourth fiddle to LGBTQ sensitivity and how the LGBTQ Community/Twitterspher attacked his Good friend for supporting him and his Comedy sooo much that it played a major part in Her feeling the need to take her own life and he was making an open call for all of us at learn to live and laugh with each other and not at each other

And to Dave's point, the Alphabet Community only care about their community. Listening to this man talk proves the point. Instead of getting all in your feeling, actually listen to the message in the humor. It's a teachable moment that so many people missed. I feel the special did more to help their community. After watching I have even more compassion.
