Healthcare should be free in America like it is everywhere else

Another example of why id rather die than put myself in debt to the point where im homeless. At this rate i think the American dream is only for the rich and powerful.

At 32 years old, i had a heart attack. A trip to the ER, a 20 minute heli ride to a better hospital and surgery. I had a stent put in, was in HP total of 4 days....now at 36, I am still over 200, 000$ in debt because of it... insanely ridiculous, especially when i have BCBS

It's honestly sad to think about how people have lost their loved ones because they didn't have the money to treat them. They were never wrong when they said money ruled the world.

They forgot the real reason why it all started, it was to help people and save lives out of passion, now its all about money

Thank heavens I'm in the UK and, although we all contribute to the costs of the NHS through our taxes, it is almost universally free at the point of delivery. There would never be any bills for something as common as a heart attack.

In South africa its free.... current state of our hospitals is poor, but with good managerial skills inside our Government it will most definitely go back to its former self

Thanks for sharing this video.
I am Canadian. Here's my hospital story. My mom and dad visited my aunt Alice in Los Angeles, back in '93. He felt sick after eating food in a casino. Even though he bought the travel medical insurance, the hospital billed him $100K plus. He spent six weeks in the hospital and had two surgeries. He had to pay up before he left the hospital. As the insurance claimed he didn't pay for the proper coverage.
He made a quick sale of the house me and my five siblings grew up in.
I was in university at the time and didn't find out that my parents were not living in our rural home by the lake, but in a crappy two bedroom apartment in a town 30 minutes away, until mid-term break.
My dad lived eight more years and died of cancer.
I was happy he got to hold my baby daughter just before he died.
I feel that not having his home ended his life early. The greed of the medical system has been painful for generations.
God bless you all.

No money for care or medicine. Still alive, and she almost wasn't after i recovered

In the UK and EU the bill would be zero . Health care is taken out of income as a tax before we receive the money at a very low rate . Hospital, local GP and ambulances are free at face to face contact. America has a terrible health system.

My ex boyfriend’s dad was an extremely successful surgeon. He took his own life after his cancer diagnosis because he didn’t want to sink his family into lifelong debt.
