we wont be out of the woods until fall if theres any integrity in the "system" at all. if prices shoot back up, it should push inflation back up. the BOC will have to respond by raising rates, which will almost certainly cause calamity (i.e. mass sell off) considering the current state of the mortgage market

This is what happens when central planners don't plan well. Extended amortizations, unrealistic immigration numbers, monetary manipulation with ultra low interest rates and free money = current disaster.

Inventory to sales falling ...
Population rising precipitously ...
Rents rising through the roof ...
Gee, I wonder what will happen to RE prices.
