The fact that a state of the art system can render 700 frames in a game absolutely astonishes me, lol

Interesting how big the graph is considering the difference is 3-5 frames only

I wonder if it would be even faster taking the 4400 memory and setting it at 4133 with tight timings

thank you, you saved me, I was considering updating my 3200 to 4400 but wanted to see the difference in 4k since i'm playing only 4k. Glad that I saw your video and i'm definitly sticking with 3200

I love how the biggest difference is from 2666 to 3200 because I have 3200mhz memory in my system right now, but it's being limited by my motherboard to 2666mhz, but I'm planning a motherboard upgrade that'll handle up to 4400mhz so that it'll be a little more future-proof, and I get a 'free upgrade' while I'm at it since my memory will be able to use its full 3200mhz speed finally! :) Thank you very much for this video. It was actually incredibly informative and helpful in my decision making going forward.

Thanks for making this video, what I take away from this is: after removing other bottlenecks, the RAM bottleneck is totally alleviated above 3200mhz CL16. The spread between that one and the higher bins seems to suggest mostly minimal improvements, but they do exist. I just bought some 4400mhz CL19 ram from Patriot, going up from 3000mhz CL16-18, and thanks to this video I KNOW I am going to gain some FPS (and probably some smoothness?).

In this type of test, it would be very useful to see average gpu usage through the benchmark.
The reason is high speed ram is only useful when you are cpu bound. If you are hitting 99% usage with 2666 ram there is no need to test anything, as there will be no difference.
It is very different when you enter low GPU usage scenarios. Though this is hard to quantify because they usually happen on multiplayer games or with poor optimization.

Remember that the higher the resolution it is not CPU bound it's GPU instead. Having faster RAM at a lower resolution will benefit more because it's CPU bound and not GPU. It's a trade off on resolution to performance balance.

Basically ram speeds get a huge bump when you transfer from 2400mhz to 2666. That's when a performance bump is made. After that, it gets littler and littler. 3000-3200 is the sweet spot

I'm surprised barely any difference between 4400 and 4133....thanks.

Overcloced my corsair 3200c16 kit to 4200c18. Saw some nice improvements in cpu limited games

I just oc'ed my ram from 2133 to 2666... now after watch this video, i want to oc it to 5000

The lack of difference between 4133 and 4400 is due to the GPU being the bottleneck at that point. As GPUs surpass the Titan V or 2080ti, that's when you'll see 4400 provide better frames than 4133. If this test was performed with two or more cards, I'd bet you'd see that proven immediately.
Higher RAM speed can be worth it if you plan on keeping your system for a number of years and only upgrading the GPU.
At 144hz, I'd rather have the highest speed I can run on my motherboard.

I have been debating for the last year thinking about upgrading to ddr4 4400 i currently have my ram at 3000 i was also thinking about upgrading to i9 9900k i have a i7 8700k and a 2080ti is it worth it guy or should i save my money

If it was a 4133Mhz with CL17 instead would it be bigger difference in fps compared to 3200Mhz 1440p ?

How did u run your ram at 4400mhz? I have completely same cpu+mb+ram but i cant pass 4200mhz. Can u share your dram voltage, vccio and vccsa values?

might be handy to know for people that are going to buy ryzen 3rd gen: 3733mhz cl17 is the sweetspot for performance because beyond this it switches to a so called 2:1 mode that massively increases latency.

*5:55** Is that really possible?*

Almost no differences in terms of fps. The differences in memory speeds do not necessarily focus on the maximum of fps, but on the stability of those fps. i'm sure that differences can be seen in the actual gameplay and a fps stability test would better show the differences.

Doesn’t mean much if you are 1440p or 4K gaming. I recommend 3600mhz though
