2008 Hyundai Accent, same situation. If you get under the middle where the hood latch is and look up at the very end of the cable that attaches to the latch, you can see it. If you look between the radiator and the front grill, not the engine side. I got a long thin screwdriver, put it up in there against the latch. It's very tiny to see you only have a half inch opening. And push it towards the dryer side with the screwdriver as I was pulling down on the hood. Popped open. Plus a little help from praying.

Not an excellent video you know and I know that the cable does not run in front of the radiator you have to take a coat hanger and go way up by the hood latch there's literally like a 2-in cable that is showing I don't understand why you have that cable running in front of your radiator because it is not like that at all it's like you put that there just to make it look easy and it's not I try for 2 hours last night in an emergency situation it could not get it thought it was going to be easy after watching your video and the cable wasn't there

As mentioned in other comments, on a 2006 Sonata the cable is much better guarded and even if I could reach it I'm not sure I could unhook the cable housing from the notch that holds it to the latch. It needs to be unhooked for pulling the go housing to do any good

Tried this with a 2009 Accent. Couldn't find the cable at all. If you're looking through the grill, you'll see a cable that looks like it's in the right place, but that's the hood sensor cable, and tugging on that won't do you any good. There's probably a way to trigger the release from under the car, but I couldn't get any of these outside solutions to work.

IF the cable isn't broken, get someone to hold the lever. Then pull the bonnet up, it should pop. Then open with lever underneath. This was on a different Hyundai i30 model

Not sure what models this works on, but can confirm that it does NOT work on the 2016 Santa Fe. There is no cable in front of the radiator.

Very short amount of cable was visible. However, after following directions the cable became detached from the latch. So now im in a worse off position.
