I have been learning Russian for a while and keep coming back to this movie I hear a little more each time.

Lots of funny moments in this movie comes from the fact that Ivan the Terrible, for example, speaks the Old Russian, while Bunsha uses the language of bureaucracy, Miloslavsky adds slang etc. Unfortunately, it hasn't been in the movie.

This is one of the best movies ever. I love Shurik plus this has a great cast. I remember the first time watching it I was sad that it might have been a dream, but it wasn't, the crown was still there but disappeared to time. Thank you Mosfilm, this is a gold treasure!

This film has the funniest portrayal of people stuck in an unfamiliar time period. I don't remember exactly why, but I remember that usually when I watch a time travel comedy, their attempts at comedy about the characters being unfamiliar with a time period just make me cringe but this film got it right.
