*7, 62-43*
*1120/bxn/90*
The ammo information is on the tin. "7, 62-43" means 7.62x39mm M43 Soviet ammo. "1120" means the number of rounds per crate. "bxn" is the German WW2 / Soviet Warsaw Pact arsenal code for the Zbrojovka Vlasim (nationalized Sellier & Bellot) ammunition plant in Vlasim, Bohemia, Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic). "90" means the ammo was made in 1990. The ammo comes in 10-round stripper clips packed 2 clips (20 rounds) per unmarked light-blue carton; there are 56 cartons (112 stripper clips) per crate.

My wife watches chocolate being made videos...I watch ammo crates being opened...same effect! I love buying and opening old military ammo by crate...the smell is better then any chocolate!

You need to first take the metal tin out of the wooden crate.  Then you can access the pull tabs and yank in the directions indicated.

One thing in sure. The wooden box quality and protection is a sign that the product inside is excellent. Never had any issue with Sellier but have not encountered any of these boxes here in Europe. Regards

Sellier & Bellot is probably the world's oldest ammunition maker, dating to 1825 when a German-French businessman, whose family fled the French Revolution, established a percussion cap factory in Prague on behalf of Emperor Francis I of Austria.

Two tabs are for opening the x and the y axis, the third tab is for lifting the ammo out of the crate, hope that helps for future crates. Good ammo, I have a couple crates myself, shoots good, and is clean. Mine was 80's production so you mileage may very.... Just remembered I had a crate where there was z axis, dump box out of wooden crate then pull x tab open, then y tab open then z tab open and ammo falls out.

How many stitches does it take to close a two inch cut? A pair of gloves might prove to be handy.🤔

Take a piece of dowel rod, slip through ring and pull straight up and across, then put it through both the side ones and pull from the middle to open them at the same time, these are made to be opened in a hurry if needed, so there is a trick to it, so as not to waste time.

The stripper clips of ten rounds probably indicates the intended firearm was the SKS, which took a ten-round stripper clip. But there is probably some reloading device that allows reloading of Kalashnikov AK-47 assault rifle magazines with three, separate stripper clips.

I just bought a crate like this and, yes, it is a real bitch to open. I wouldn't want to be under fire trying to get my ammo out. That said, you could bury it in a cache for years without fear of corrosion.
