I don't even know what to say, they gave me more than I ever expected but at the same time I know it's over for good now and I wish they could've gotten so much more.

Cat&Reid was truly the sexiest, most thrilling, and intersting ship on the show, and imagine what it could've been if the writers weren't so generic and catering to the boring people lmao

The fascinating thing about the relationship between Cat and Spencer is the usually hot dynamic between them.

Kat - she enjoys the game, she loves playing with him, trying to trick him, confuse him, get him to crack, break and get darker under her influence, until he perhaps believes that he is as much of a monster as she is, which is when she can use his depleting self-worth to essentially bring him under her thrall.

Spencer - You’d think this relationship would be one-sided, with everything that has happened between the two, her trying to murder his mother, drugging him, getting him in prison, killing people, making him believe she was pregnant with his kid, etc. but it’s not.

At the beginning of this episode after they talk, he walks out of the interrogation room, walks into the hallways, takes a deep breath/rocks back on his heels, like he’s taken a physical blow. He walks into the office, he tears off his tie, takes deep laboured breaths, his emotions mixed and clouded, and then he screams and knocks everything down.

Despite everything, Spencer IS still extremely attracted to her, her mind, her eyes, her body, etc. and he HATES HIMSELF for it. He is frustrated at the fact that he enjoys the time they spend together, he is more open and honest with Kat than almost everyone in his life, and some part of him likes her aggressive nature, the fact that she challenges him, his wants, his needs, etc.

Some part of him WANTS her to win, he breathes in her darkness and he wants to let himself get pulled under and just let her take control, cause it would be so easy - but he knows he can’t or rather he shouldn’t cause she’s an insane psychopath - and that mixed desire, to both want to defeat her and his want for her to win and escape is logically and emotionally frustrating.

Honestly, I love all of your edits of Catherine and Spencer despite how toxic their relationship is. I can't help, but notice a love and hate relationship between those two. Apart of me thinks that Cat would have changed to be good for Spencer like no criminal would cry over an agent, especially one who threw her to jail, she wouldn't ask for him to take her out on a date- the list is endless. Also, let's not forget what Spencer had told her and that made Cat die of curiosity, she wanted proof.. so he kissed her, but he didn't stop until she pushed him away.
I wish we had a flashback of Cat's past or a reason why she became an assassin. But nonetheless, I love the chemistry between them and wished for more episodes of them.

Oh, I think this might have convinced me to watch it now—I was (still kinda am) leery about watching it because I just _knew_ they wouldn't do both their characters justice. Cat's pushed Spencer so far, gotten him to darken, and _Red Light_ was *_such_* a masterpiece that I can't imagine anything else to ever top it. I'm sad to see Cat go, but hopefully this episode will help a bit with that.


Cat brings out the darkness in him and in all honesty I wish there was a lot more stuff out there about them—they're so fascinating together and I would love a spinoff featuring just them playing games and constantly one-upping and trying to one-up each other.


And let's face it—Cat's the hottest bitch ever. I wish she got him pissed off enough to attack her like he did in _Red Light_ and all.That whole thing + her grin and the looks they exchanged after JJ pulled him away from her, incredible. It says something when he looked less shocked and just more contemplative, especially after she gave him that look and he had to walk out for a bit and sort out his thoughts, it's all so intriguing, god I wish there was more featuring them together.


In short, you did an awesome job and I'm so happy for it.
