I'm a child of the supermodel, Kevin Aucoin '80s glam and I continue to do my makeup much like I learned to back then. True, I test out new formulations and follow influencers like yourself to try to update techniques, but I struggle to create 'no makeup makeup looks' because I continuously revert back to glam. I think this is normal for most of us, to prefer the type of look that was in style when we first became serious about wearing makeup. My grandmother always wore red lipstick a la 1940s, and my neighbor continues to wear the 60s-70s hippie vibe of makeup. We are creatures of habit. That said, I was late in finding your channel but have become obsessed with your content, so I've been watching many of your older videos and I can honestly say that I see subtle changes you've made over the years to your preferred looks. Subtle changes only though, because you obviously know what makes you look and feel your best, and you're right! You're gorgeous, inspiring and whole lotta fun to watch. Thanks for keeping it real!

I'm so happy you've found your own favorite way of doing makeup. I feel like trends are just things to try but when you find what you like, embrace it! You can update in lots of ways to stay modern, while keeping the techniques you love. I've spent my whole makeup life trying to get a bright lid & deep outer corner, now that I have the knowledge & products to make my very un-poppy eyes POP, I will not stop lol. My halo eyes are pretty undetectable (I wear glasses & have deep, hooded, shadowy eyes, my makeup looks big to me but very subtle to everyone else, kinda fun, I can go full glam whenever & it looks office appropriate lol), but I wouldn't stop even if they were. Robert Welsh has a style of makeup that isn't super trendy right now, and he works it beautifully because it's his artistic style, same as you ❤

Thank you so much for always featuring affordable makeup that works!! So many of the products you listed are also my favorites too. I will add, if you have watery eyes, the MIlani Stay Put Eyeliner works so well, and I use the brown shade, Semi-Sweet! I also use a similar bronzer to the MIlani one, the Maybelline City Bronzer. The lightest shade is perfect for my super pale skin!
