Do Mooo Mats Really Sound Better?

I picked up a cool-looking "Moo Mat" the other day. It says right on the packaging that they will make your turntable system sound better, so let's put it to the test. In this video I compare it with an inexpensive Cork Mat. Let's listen and hear if we notice a difference.

Well ... @0:45 either it's the mat (doubt it) or choose a record without distortion in the grooves. The guitar is distorted. No not the fuzz guitar in the background. The jazz guitar. And the LP on the moo mat is fluctuating up and down alot. Wow. Not a good sign. You want stability with a mat. I also hear a speed warbling, probably your belt drive turntable.

Despite what is mentioned below, it sounds fuller and warmer with the moo mat (hearing my phone speaker next to my ear).

They can land on the moon and return but they can’t make a flat record….….cheap vinyl………..?🤔🤔🤔

I've tried em all. I think a cork mat with an acrylic mat on top sounds the best...

I think you need to:
1. Have a record that isn't warped
2. Have a record weight or clamp

You'd need to do these things at minimum to even be able to judge fairly.
