Epic. Reminds me of films from WWII when the C47s lined up for D-day.

*I did 20 yrs in the AF and i am STILL AMAZED every single time one of these beasts gets off the ground successfully. Most ppl HAVE NO IDEA just HOW BIG one of these things are in real life up close.*

This is so cool! When our troops came home from the Gulf in 1991, there were 5 C-17's that were in perfect alignment, evenly spaced, landing on base. The anticipation was so great, because our husband, boyfriend, father, or brother were aboard. As they taxied over to where we, the family of our guy were, they parked side by side at an angle...
We are all waiting, and in slow motion, the part above the cockpit opens at, they slowly opened up, and American flags were held up and were so happy to see them, obviously! All of our kids are calling out, crying, bursting with tears of love, and at the top of their lungs, were calling out Daddy to them.
What a wonderful experience that was!!
A memory that lasts a lifetime, just as if it was last week! To all that have served our country, protecting our freedom, I say, from the bottom of my kids and my heart, THANK YOU! We are so fortunate to have each and every one of you!!

Been there done that! 14th AS. Was in the Pelicans when it was at Norton AFB. C-141B days. Way back when! Spent 12 years at Chucktown and the minute I retired, no, the minute I went on terminal leave, high tailed it out west. Was not sticking around Charleston. Glad I retired in 2005 before things really got bad.

That must be the most awesome thing. Not sure what they are called, load master to commander, yes? Can you open the cargo door? We want to sit there and look outside. Sure. * door opens *
