You can also do this with a piece of icy meat. If you fuse it to your sheild it makes a very efficient, slippery surfboard.

You can actually shield surf on any rails in totk without a cart

FYI, the cart is not necessary to grind rails, but it does make it go faster + style points. Any shield that you can shield surf on will let you rail grind.

You actually don't need to fuse anything to your shield to be able to grind rails BUT if you fuse a mine cart or a Zonai cart to it, you basically get a skateboard which makes for the most fun movement possible as long as you're going downhill
