Thor's advice is actually life in a nutshell.

That's how i used to watch a lot of kinda small streamers, I always knew they were streaming at 10am while i was having breakfast, and another was always there at 9pm when i got home, its really nice not having to guess if theyre on or not

Consistency is key for a lot of things.

I want to be the "fox execs running the initial run of firefly out of intended order" of streamers

Can confirm regimented schedules help a lot, but being able to stick with that can be super difficult when life is inconsistent with you

Some advice for streamers:

1) keep it consistent, like thor said, but don't worrying about when and go for at least an hour. People talk about not streaming during off hours, don't listen to them. Less viewers, but also less streamers fot people to click on.

2) find someone to have on stream with you when you're starting out. Chats are normally dead because a quiet streamer doesn't have anything to say (literally) while you and your Buddy chatting encourages interaction

3) be interactive or have something for chat to engage with you. Let them pick heros, let them set up weird challenges etc.

4) you grow more off stream than on. Make shorts, videos, or other edited content for discover-ability

5) collab with new or other streamers. You might find new friends, new community members, or new experiences in games you haven't tried before.

6) manage burnout before it happens. Please. If you dont you'll leave all your work behind.

And lastly) You will only grow as much as you're dedicated. If you do things half assed, there will be someone out there doing it full assed who will gain more traction than you. Some of the most viewed streamers have been doing it for YEARS non-stop. Don't compare yourself to them.

I really miss streaming..life just got too busy.

I feel so guilty for leaving my community behind. It was small, but they were dedicated. 💛💜

Oh boy I can feel him holding back that "reconsider your choices" response

Love Thor and the stream and shorts. The music has gotten to a point where I don't watch stream anymore, and I was even going to skip this short because of it. I don't even want to try the demo because I've heard the same music for six months watching thor.

Solid advice that I'm not sure I would have immediately thought of myself.

If you can't hold to a schedule (say, your day job is inconsistent), at a minimum announce streams in advance. A couple smaller streamers I used to follow would have a different schedule every week, but they would post that weeks schedule on every social media they used.

Really became one of my favorite creators in such a short amount of time, thanks

This also comes back to the conversation of whether you want to do this for fun or as a career. Professional streamers stream even on days they feel like crap cause they have a schedule to adhere to.

My oshi stopped doing schedules after 2 years, but she's so consistent on time at the same time every day that it doesn't matter. We're getting a heads up well ahead of time if there's a change.

I actually used your other twitch schedule advice short for planning for my current new streaming ambitions. Thanks 💗

I love how anytime anyone asks Thor for advice, even if it seems like a joke. He says “yeah, ” and then gives the best advice out there.

I wish I had time to watch streams. I would 100% watch this channel. Thanks for posting shorts!
