CAN YOU SPEED UP THE CENTRIFUGAL TO MINIC THE BOOST CURVE OF A TURBO? SHORT OF A CVT ASSEMBLY, CAN THE BLOWER BE SPED UP AND THEN THE EXTRA BOOST ELIMINATED ON THE BIG END WITH A BOV OR WG? SHOULD YOUTRY THIS?

This doesn't really involve forced induction, but I guess i have an example of where power is nice to have at 1500 rpm. At 30 mph (4th gear) my truck runs at about 1500 rpm, its a manual and I'd rather not down shift if I don't have to just to speed up a little to get around somebody. There is also some other situations around town where I don't like to down shift if I don't have to. The less rpm I run, the easier it is on my engine is the way I look at it. To top it off my transmission (sm465) doesn't shift very smooth, especially down shifts. If its necessary I'll definitely down shift if I need to.

Just for shit and giggles I'd like to see any junk yard motor's tq/hp curves with no intake manifold but with 1 inch long intake stacks and 1 inch long zoomie headers. 😅

Running a blower on a car almost sound's more complicated then the old s/c radial on my ag-cat lol. What your saying about centrifugal's under 2k rpm that they don't make boost sound's similar to s/c radial engine's But we try to use that to are advantage to keep strain and heat down, by usually trying to only make min boost needed on take-off then pull it back to 28-30 inches at cruise. I never thought about that with centrifugal's that would be a nice perk for a reliable daily

I always used centri for lack of down low for traction control.could you use camshaft trickory by adding advance to make less boost feel like more then when the cam runs out sooner the more boost takes over

Video sucks, just a bunch of random stupid questions, all over the place.., how much gap does blank need. There's a formula for that stop asking for ring gap. The real magic is the timing and fuel control, ask about that please.

Doing the BOV that way is like pegging the tack and pumping the clutch until you reach an rpm where it should have been sidestepped in the first place.

I do understand that the rpm is something that needs to be a manageable place. I also understand that the boost curve will never be flat. What I am really curious about is when using a blower that creates significantly more air at normal rpm. Enough to create more boost than is targeted. Then cold gated to maintain that boost level. Why does this not work? How much parasitic loss would there actually be? Is it so bad that it's not worth the effort? This would be an excellent comparison. Thank you for the detailed videos.

I truly enjoy this channel, so much information to file away. It is cumulative for everything automotive and for motorcycles if you are a fan of the effort of Burt Munro. Maybe a 270 degree XS 650 at 750 ccs and a little turbo? The stock heads would make 125-150 hp and the engine would eat it up. A bobber style HellCat eater… lol.
