They all did a really fantastic job. The way Tim slid from the depths of hell and seamlessly slid into that upper range was amazing. And Austin with those high notes and riff's, just wow! Peter Hollens is a very talented guy. He likes to layer his voices and then blend them altogether. You should go check him out, especially his Bohemian Rhapsody. Thank you!

My mom and grandma would have loved this one. Peter sings a range of music and it all comes out so well! I think my favorite is Boy Band Parody that he did with Paint and the World of Warcraft music he sang with his wife. He also sang The Prayer with her that turned out wonderfully. Thank you! ^_^

I am the same way with both songs as well. They just touch something in my soul. I am late watching this, but it was what I needed to hear. Thanks.

Ya know, the 1st time I'd listened to this --- I was taken aback!!! So similar to How Great Thou Art, I have heard both so many times and so many ways - pretty much every way possible and then some that one wouldn't think was possible, but it did Not knocking any renditions I've heard (and I mean that!). But what Peter and Home Free has pulled out of this hymn, the feeling, the emotion -- don't really know how to explain it. These songs are powerful, and these performances HIT --- and some days more than others, they HIT hard. Very PLEASING (to my ear)!!! Not saying necessarily out of conviction but just PURE MUSIC!!! Phenomenally Exceptional!!!

Been missing you, sure hope you are feeling better! Thanks for doing my favorites, Home Free! Take care. Love this incredible version with all the guys and Peter! Good choice.

Tim and Peter have done a few collaborations, I personally like their version of "Misty Mountains", the dwarven song from the Hobbit. And on the final note of that video, Tim gets low enough to vibrate the camera, if you pay close attention.

Awesome. 👏👏👏. Dutch Amira Willighagen, winner of Holland Got Talent 2013 has an amazing version as well. Please check her out.

Good morning JL. Yay it’s a cappella Saturday!!! I’m sure you’ll get lots of information on Peter Hollens... he does have a beautiful voice. He has done another collaboration with Home Free...19 You and Me...which is very good (the video on Home Free’s channel is much better than the one on Peter’s channel). Peter used to be part of an a cappella group (don’t remember the name) that was also on an early season of The Sing Off but he is best known as a solo artist where he sings all the different parts in his songs himself and layers them in his home studio. He also collaborates with other artists. He has done some amazing work with Tim Foust...Misty Mountains, Greensleeves, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Sounds of Silence. You should add those videos to your list if they’re not already there. (Their version of Sound of Silence is very good but much different than Disturbed’s). I like some of his music a lot (but not all of it). Have a great Saturday.

What a great way to start my this reaction from you! To me..this is the best cover of this song ever! Peter Hollens is a fantastic singer....there are many great suggestions in the other comments! But if you want just have to react to his cover of Circle Of Life! It gave me chills the 1st time I watched it!

I agree with your favorites of The Star Spangled Banner and Amazing Grace...two of my own, as well. I'm really, really, REALLY picky about how the Banner should be sung (in that I do NOT like to hear people just trying to hype what they THINK are their amazing voices...I want to hear the innate harmonies and the emotions of the lyrics really FELT and portrayed honestly and forthrightly). My favorite rendition of it, totally honestly, and for those reasons alone, is they way my daughter Judi sings it...CHILLS! She has a tremendous voice, too, but she learned long ago that it is the song that is to shine...not her techniques or whatever. I feel the same about Amazing Grace, pretty much. It should pull you in, and if you are doing something to detract from that, then you're doing it wrong. I don't generally have that strong of an opinion about any song...there are a few. Mostly I just enjoy music for what it is, and it's not that I don't enjoy technique, as well, when used well, and right.

Loved your reaction. Got to get busy creating a video and editing & uploading two, but before I go...
