Dangerous reputation? You mean like Boeing right now? Despite another 50+ years worth of knowledge.

At the time, the Tu-104 had issues, of EXACTLY the same kind as several other non-Soviet aircraft built at the same time.
Wingtip stalling being the primary one IIRC.

DH Comet, 25 total loss accidents out of 114 planes built. Tu-104, 16 total hull loss accidents outs of 201 aircraft built.
Just to take ONE actually relevant comparison.

Very nice video! Although the script sounds strikingly simular to mustards video...

Rushed reengineering of a previous concept and a deadly crash. That sounds familiar. The Boeing 737-max had two 100% fatal crashes before it was fixed. I doubt that unlike Boeing, Tupolev hid any technology from the pilots. Same with the British Comet. The pilots had all the available knowledge in their manuals. In 1950s such accidents were somewhat understandable with the lesser knowledge and technology available at the time. In the 2000s it is totally unacceptable.
