Well done! Great car enthusiast overview of the 718. Thank you!

Yes, I can see getting the underside pressure washed once or twist a year, since there is no real protection for the engine and suspension. Depends on how OCD one is. Great video of such a clean new 718.

Immense thanks for creating your channel. I'm actually facing a similar dilemma regarding a base Cayman as my Warsaw daily driver, so it's a real boon to have somebody show me the path.

Awesome video and presentation, Mike!

You mentioned in your video that you think the front brakes are gonna be a bit of a weaker link in the whole package. It is obviously not the beefier unit sourced from the 911 and also found on the S and GTS model. Would you care to elaborate on what your expecations are on the base (front) brakes, and how that might be inadequate for your needs and usage?

Regarding absence of plastic covers in wheel arches, I was wondered seeing this on your first pictures. Those are not the only against mud but for the noise-reduction and anti-corrosion purposes. A bit confused on what's behind the reason of such a decision.

Hi Mike. Love your videos and also subscribed. I am located in Toronto, Canada, very interested in a 2023 base 718 Cayman. This area's winter is very intense. My plan is own this for the daily commute. Since there are no protection shields to cover the rear wheel wells, do you think it will require a lot of work in washing it. I technically enjoy washing and detailing the vehicle I own but with the slush from a snow fall, I am just afraid this might look nasty. What is your thought on owning one in Canada. Thanks Mike

would you consider doing a video topic about turbo lag in the base 718. Specifically in daily city driving (not motorway/racetrack). I hear so many conflicting opinions on this subject and i think sometimes reviewers mix up their opinions between the base and S trim models. My wife drives a petrol MB 300 4matic estate (automatic transmission) and that sometimes has some lag at low speeds/revs. I'm sure you've driven that engine in one of the C-class models. Is the 718 base 2.0 turbo response similar to the MB 2.0 turbo? or significantly better? Many thanks.

said that "damaging the gearbox is quite easy if someone crashes into you from behind." I am looking at a 718 Cayman with rear end damage. It is a PDK. I can see in pictures that the rear exhaust is damaged. It is great to watch your video of the rear-end components, but I wonder if the auto transmission is even more likely to incur damage in a rear-end collision and is there then the risk of engine damage as well? The gearbox does look very vulnerable so close to the exhaust components and rear bumper. Any thoughts? New sub. Great content.

Great video and series, subscribed.

A few questions - did you manage to test the brakes on race track and were they adequate or you'll want to upgrade?

If you decide to upgrade to 718 S brake discs and calipers, would they fit under your current stock 18 inch wheels without any spacers and such?

And a last question, what do you think about APR chip tuning, would you go for their stage 1 file or APR+ that should cover the stock factory warranty?

Thanks in advance, I'm thinking about getting a 718 and researching everywhere, your videos are very well put together, informative and helpful. 👍

What is exact ground clearance you measured? And what do you think about making it bigger (18 cm max) in the future
